Hi! I would like to claim this task. I have implemented the proposed fix (setting the default value of RelatedArticlesUseCirrusSearchApiUrl to null and dynamically falling back to the local API path in index.js). I've verified it locally and will be submitting the Gerrit patch shortly

Thanks for the feedback and the discussion @Sarai-WMF. Your points and more thoughts have surfaced that finding a distinctive separation from spacing tokens is more complex and possibly confusing than is the current mixing of using spacing tokens for multitude of applications like inner paddings/margins and grid gaps in regards to Codex themability.

Decision was made to remove this test suite from daily runs after conversation with @egardner in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/mediawiki/extensions/RelatedArticles/+/1290034

I can take a look at this shortly.

Checking in about this again. Today's selenium test failed and failure is just noise because this test should never fail because it doesn't test anything (see gerrit patch in the task description). At the very least can we just remove this daily selenium job until it is decided if we want to remove or fix this test?

@HSwan-WMF : This test suite was discovered by Elena + Vaughn and seems to serve no purpose other than sometimes breaking CI, so it either needs to be deleted or refactored into becoming useful. Our recommendation would be to simply delete the test based on what we're seeing.
