Wikimedia language communities can sometimes have a surge of activity, or vice versa where their activity drastically reduces quickly. It is important to know if there is any unusual trend in the activity. This can help relevant stakeholders uncover stores (say a campaign) and/or intervene if necessary. It is hard to define what is unusual, we can start with some simple and add more features. At a basic level, this will be something like a script check activity of wikis regularly, and if there's a relative change, for example, 50% more edits than usual in a given month, and then updates a log.
