By default, the fade-in duration prevents character movement for ~10sec. This fix drastically decreases that duration. Go to the configuration file(s) location. Open Fallout76Custom.ini or create it if it does not exist. Add or modify the following lines under [Interface]: fFadeToBlackFadeSeconds=1.0000 fMinSecondsForLoadFadeIn=1.0000 Notes Setting lower than 1 will introduce repeating loading screens issue by not letting the game to finish loading.

Increase PipBoy Resolution

Field of view (FOV)

A world FOV slider was added in a patch. However, wider FOVs may make it difficult to read text on terminal screens.

The viewmodel FOV can also be set manually.

Fix FOV when viewing terminals
Download High FoV Terminals according to your FOV. Place HiFoVTerm.ba2 into <path-to-game>\Data. Go to the configuration file(s) location. Open Fallout76Custom.ini or create it if it does not exist. Add the following section. [Archive] sResourceArchive2List = HiFoVTerm.ba2

Change viewmodel FOV via Fallout76Custom.ini
Go to the configuration file(s) location. Open Fallout76Custom.ini or create it if it does not exist. Under [Display] add the fDefault1stPersonFOV=XX parameter with the desired FOV. Notes Modifying fDefault1stPersonFOV will also modify the Pip-Boy's FOV. Use an alternate Quick Pip-Boy view instead by pressing VIEW hotkey while using Pip-Boy (default is V), or via Display settings.

Anisotropic filtering (AF)

Anisotropic filtering is set to 0 if using Low preset. It is not configurable by Texture Quality option.

Anti-aliasing (AA)

Go to the configuration file(s) location. Open the Fallout76Prefs.ini file in a notepad. Find the sAntiAliasing line under the Display section and change its value to 0. Save the changes. Notes No other method of antialiasing is present, only TAA.

Vertical sync (Vsync)

Go to the configuration file(s) location. Open Fallout76Prefs.ini. Under [Display] change iPresentInterval to 0. Notes Disabling vertical sync will unlock framerate from 60 FPS. Might fix performance issues in the (borderless) windowed mode.

Nvidia G-Sync

Download and run Nvidia Profile Inspector. Under Profiles select Fallout 76. Set GSYNC - Application State to Allow. Go to the configuration file(s) location. Open Fallout76Prefs.ini. Under [Display] change bFull Screen to 1, bBorderless to 0 and iPresentInterval to 0.

Disable Motion Blur

Disable Screen Space Bokeh

Disable Ambient Occlusion

Custom Resolution

Change Shadow Distance

Issues fixed

Inability to accept the new privacy policy

Sometimes on startup the game will introduce a new privacy policy that your are unable to accept. It presents a controller button prompt even if you don't have any connected to your computer. Or if you do, it doesn't detect any confirmation input.

As a workaround, you can temporarily disable the gamepad support by doing the following:
