You can also open Price Guide by tapping "See insights" on a card's listing page.

What types of cards are supported?
Price Guide works best for sports cards and the most popular trading card games, including Pokémon (English and Japanese), Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, and Disney Lorcana, with continued expansion planned.

How accurate is the pricing data?
Price Guide is built using completed sales data on eBay. When a card is identified, we match it to the same card and, when available, the same grade so the pricing reflects comparable sales. We also use accepted Best Offer prices rather than listed prices, helping provide a more accurate view of market value. Actual prices may still vary based on condition, timing, demand, and other market factors.

How up-to-date is the data?
Our data is updated every 24 hours, therefore market prices may not reflect real-time changes.

Does Price Guide include data from outside eBay?
Price Guide primarily uses eBay sales data, including up to two years of completed transactions. It also incorporates external data sources such as PSA and CGC Population Reports, and the Card Ladder Index to provide additional context on pricing and market trends.

Is Price Guide free to use?
Yes. Scanning cards and viewing pricing insights is free to use, with no usage limits. Standard eBay selling fees apply only if you choose to list and sell an item.

How does scanning a card work?
Simply take a picture of the front of a trading card. eBay’s image recognition technology identifies the card and matches it to eBay’s catalog. Once identified, you’ll see relevant pricing data and immediate options to explore similar listings, add to your collection, or start a listing draft—all in one flow.

What if my card isn’t recognized?
If a card can’t be confidently identified, you’ll see alternative matches to choose from. This helps ensure accuracy and avoids showing misleading information.

Can I buy cards after I’ve scanned them?
Yes. After scanning, you can explore active listings for the same or similar cards on eBay, making it easy to compare options and buy with confidence.

Can I sell my card after scanning it?
Yes. Once your card is identified, you can start a listing draft directly from the scan. Everything will be pre-filled including images to help save time and reduce manual entry.

Is card scanning accessible outside of the eBay app?
No. The card scanning feature is currently only supported on the eBay app. If you don’t have the app, please visit the App Store for iPhone or Google Play store to download.

How is this different from other card scanning apps?
Unlike third-party tools, eBay offers a fully integrated experience, from scan and identification to pricing, buying, and selling, all powered by eBay’s catalog and marketplace data.

Does Price Guide work for both graded and raw cards?
Yes. Price Guide supports both graded cards and raw cards, with improving identification and pricing coverage across both.

Is Price Guide available globally?
No, this feature is currently only available for use in the US.

Where can I find Price Guide on eBay?
Price Guide is available across key experiences, including My eBay (Scan cards and My Collection) and when viewing a trading card listing—where you can access pricing insights directly.

Does the “Median sold price” account for Best Offer accepted prices?
Yes, the “Median sold price” is calculated using Best Offer accepted prices, not the listed price.

What types of pricing insights can I see?
You can view pricing across grades, historical sales trends (up to two years), median sold prices, and detailed transaction data to better understand market value.

Can I use Price Guide on desktop?
Yes. While card scanning is only available in the eBay app, you can access Price Guide insights directly on  My Collection (My eBay) and when viewing a trading card listing on both desktop and mobile web.

Does Price Guide support non-card collectibles (e.g., comic books, coins)?
Currently, Price Guide is focused exclusively on sports cards and collectible card games (STC & CCG), with continuous expansion planned for card types. Support for other collectible categories is not available at this time.
