In my opinion, it's because it was the only human interaction she had for forty days (and at this point she might believe it will be her only way of interacting with people for her entire life)

Oh I have one full hourglass (5 days) and one that has maybe five hours on it! I'm talking about the hourglasses in the bubbles that make your whole board jump time at once. I got them in the different rewards but now I have SO MANY and I've already merged them a lot to save space, it's a bit annoying because while I like having a few in stock, this is just too much it takes up all my space by that point 😅
