I would rather wait and take the bus to West Shinjuku, dropping me on the street where I can hop into a taxi to go home.

In the end yesterday bus left at 9:45 and arrived in Shinjuku 11:10. Hopped into a taxi right there, home at 11:20

Free World Cup wall charts in Japan time zone (and others) by Background_Map_3460 in japanlife

Totally agree with the overall sentiment. Hate the expanded format, hate FIFA butt licking Trump, and the US sucks for their lack of organization and welcoming spirit.

I just came back from one month in San Francisco, and I barely noticed any mention of the World Cup, even though some games are being played in the Bay Area.

That said, I’ve watched pretty much every single game from every World Cup since 1978 when I was an American kid living in the UK. I’ve cheered for England ever since, and even went to the England/Brazil game in Japan in 2002, as well as the Brazil/Germany final. Can’t break my streak now

X button stuck, any help? by Cowboy_gerrie in xbox

Sure you have to open it up which includes undoing the screw in the battery compartment.

Not sure what’s the problem with that. There’s no warranty that’s going to get you a fix for the sticky button, so no reason not to undo the screw. I just went straight through the sticker rather than peeling it off.

Easy to open and clean inside. Qtip with alcohol outside is only a very temporary fix

Just watch a video. You’ll need the torx driver

It's so good to know that she finally did more shows in Japan. by No_Confidence5622 in LadyGaga

Just because she performed Mayhem at the Tokyo Dome doesn’t mean she hasn’t performed in Japan.

She has performed in Japan multiple times (2009, 2010, 2014, 2022, 2026). Chromatica Ball was only in Japan in Asia. Technically it was in Saitama, but your post seems to imply she hasn’t toured in Japan much.

Personally I was fine waiting for the 9:45 bus, since I needed to get to Shinjuku.

I doubt the visitors I saw were getting out of immigration and customs by 11. More planes were still arriving too.

I wonder if there was a plan to add extra buses. When I left at 9:45, the buses were almost sold out

I used it no problem in self checkout. I just had the gift card loaded in Apple wallet, nothing to do with the Safeway app. Did you add the pin number when prompted into the keyboard? Some Safeway don’t allow you to scan the code at the self checkout, so then it’s better to go to a cashier

You don’t add the card to the Safeway app. It just adds to my Apple wallet automatically. Same with Google wallet.

Choose pay with code, scan it, then add the pin when prompted. I’ve also used it with the cashier directly no problem

Your choice. I’ve used it at both the cashier and the self checkout. When you use self checkout you first scan the code (select pay with code) then you just have to add the pin number when it asks you to in the machine

What’s a credit card / travel rewards trick you discovered way too late? by Other-Address4550 in CreditCards

Getting cards with AFs and travel points.

My parents instilled me with the idea that all cc should be without AF and cashback only. They have never had an AF card.

I realized in my 40s I could get a ton more value from some travel/AF cards and quickly switched to team travel.

Of course cashback is good too, especially for those who don’t have the time or inclination to deep dive into redemptions etc
