Nice stand. The AMS on top of that drawer looks like a cash register. :-)

Thanks! I wish it printed bills!

I use this same bins. They are perfect. 4 rolls. And absolutely air tight. (Sometimes 5 rolls if they slightly thinner the. The Bambu ones)

May I ask which bins they are? I’m flush with filament and have nowhere to put it all.

Ezy Storage 19qt bins.

But u can get them at Menards or even Meijers. In the past I was able to get them on sale for like $5 a pop.

I use 18l tubs from Bunnings (a hardware store, I’m in Australia), $15 and stores 4. Wish I’d know that before spending a fortune on cereal containers..

Ezystorage 18L. I have no problem getting 5 bambu spools in each. they are the best

Yep, 4 rolls upright, and a 5th fits flat across the top.

You may need a bigger printer

[–]tuneupyourdobro 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I've been putting off building one. After seeing yours, I think it's time to get my new printer off of the floor. It's a simple build, but like you said, it's utilitarian and it's going to serve its purpose.

I dig the varying depth on the tops chamfers. The more pronounced one on bottom gives it a really clean look!

What did you do for joinery? I thought you had a face frame on a carcass at first glance, but doesn't look like it zoomed in. Did you notch the middle and bottom support pieces and then use pocket holes?

Good job and thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks!

You're right, no carcass. It's open on all four sides. I intentionally made it thick and heavy. Wanted the mass to handle the shaking.

No fancy joinery. I used clear pine 1x2s and 1x3s. Doubled up everywhere, but with gaps at intersections, essentialy making half-lap joints. Hopefully that makes sense. This should help:

⚡💀🌹 Do happen to be Jerry Douglas?

[–]tuneupyourdobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey now!

Haha, no but that would be cool. The ballad of curtis loew has always been one of my favorite songs pulled it from there.

Looks good, well done!

Very nice! What's the top? I've made some custom workbenches but the local hardware stores never stock any worktops I can use. They've got countertops, mostly with backsplash, but no plain tops. I've ended up using melamine-coated 3/4" plywood.

[–]DarkStarThinAir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The top is just a project panel from the big blue home center. Looked like a pine butcher block.

Hoping to do the same myself soon! Clearing out the back room. I like the colour you've picked, I might paint my unit that colour. Looking good, great job!
