I am 75 years old and have a bachelors degree in mathematics and computer science. I was certified to teach secondary mathematics in the state of Michigan but never obtained a real teaching job and ended up spending 24 years as a substitute teacher. I did not develop an interest in mathematics until the age of 40, having studied humanities and the arts in my younger days. I admit that, in comparison to most of the contributors to this site, I am pretty much a "shallow end of the pool" mathematician.

I feel blessed to have had two excellent mentors over the years: Randy Schwartz, former chair of the schoolcraft college mathematics department and Wolfdieter Lang with whom I have worked on a great many projects over the years. I work part time as a musician and run a gardening service in the summer. I am a huge history buff and art collector, in addition to being a historic home preservationist and certified antique furniture whore.

In so many ways, tech has always been a challenge for me. The development of this page is an example of this. eventually I would like to have links to the various papers I have written.
