About Matt Watkins

Matt has been writing for MovieWeb since 2021, specializing in horror, animation, and 80s and 90s films. He obtained his first degree in Media Writing from Greenwich University.

In relation to the course, Matthew spent some time writing as an intern for music and lifestyle magazine Guestlist. 

Matthew also has a Masters degree in Marketing and has worked several PR jobs where writing duties included creating press releases, quotes and byline-articles.

Favorite Media

Matt is a fan of all genres but specializes in Horror, Animation and 80s/90s nostalgia with a particular interest in Disney. 

Industry Focus

He obtained my first degree in Media Writing from Greenwich University where he was able to engage in all facets of the writing process including writing, critiquing, editing and revising, allowing him to maximise his effectiveness as a writer and reader of media messages. In relation to the course, He spent some time writing as an intern for music and lifestyle magazine Guestlist.

He has experience in pitching and has secured and written articles for specialist publications like ITPro and TechCrunch as well as top tier nationals in the UK like The Times ‘Sunday Technology’ supplement.
