Hey Emk9, I saw your message earlier but the section has been archived. Apologies for not leaving a comment before: if a lock is requested for an account that is blocked on the only projects it is active on, and a checkuser does not reveal any other accounts that may be a problem, I tend to decline to lock as the local community has effectively dealt with the abuse. Other stewards might lock in that case, but without the threat of that account being used elsewhere I tend to not. No issues with the report, it's good to raise them but sometimes further action isn't needed. – Ajraddatz (talk) 18:25, 1 September 2025 (UTC)

@Ajraddatz: Thanks, I'm glad to know that it was steward preference instead of me filing wrong, since I only recently started filing for locks. And I understand why it makes sense to not always lock the account, I've certainly seen crosswiki abuse cases where the sockmaster abandons the sock once it is blocked on one wiki instead of using it on multiple. I'll keep an eye on the account though since this sockmaster seems to often also cause problems on Zh-wiki. I'll re-file if they do. Emk9 (talk) 20:44, 1 September 2025 (UTC)
