The residual watchlist of editors who missed out on having alternatives in creating and managing watchlists, in most cases cannot, despite the excellent improvements to the system - review and edit their watchlist due to timeout issues.
If I have read them correctly - here have been similar discussions over time to split/separate watchlists into smaller components. Perhaps this should be updated to make a definite program to help editors work with lists that have large size to be able to manage the list. The timeout restriction might not be changeable, so that the separation into smaller lists might be a more viable change area.
If there was some way to help to review or edit larger watchlists of size, by allowing editing type or category of item - rather than the whole watchlist, it would be really great!
