The Sherbal system was a star system located somwhere in the Alpha Quadrant or Beta Quadrant. Its location was considered to be "in the middle of nowhere", and far from Klingon space.

This system contained at least five planets, including the habitable, if inhospitable at best, world Sherbal V.
History[]
Nova Fleet was active in the system until shortly before their 2381 unveiling; the lower deckers Nick Locarno talked into joining stranded their superior officers on Sherbal V. (LD: "The Inner Fight", "Old Friends, New Planets")
Shortly prior to the unveiling, the USS Cerritos dispatched an away team to the Sherbal system to repair an old weather satellite over Sherbal V. Following completion, the away team was attacked by the IKS Che'Ta' and forced to beam onto the planet. Lieutenant jg Beckett Mariner established a rapport with Ma'ah while stranded on the planet, and rallied the stranded crews together before being abducted by Locarno, leading to the Che'Ta' being retaken by Ma'ah and ending Nova Fleet activity in the system.
