The Kressari were a spacefaring humanoid species from the Kressari system in the Alpha Quadrant. They were primarily known for their commercial trade of botanical DNA. They also produced a highly alcoholic beverage known as tears of Kressari. (DS9: "The Circle"; SA: "The Life of the Stars")

Although a politically neutral race with no standing military, elements within the Cardassian Central Command employed Kressari as intermediaries in 2370 to secretly supply the Bajoran insurgent group known as the Alliance for Global Unity (or "the Circle"), so that they would force the Federation from Bajor and allow the Cardassians to reclaim the planet.

Constable Odo of Deep Space 9 was able to infiltrate the Kressari freighter Calondon and obtain proof that the Cardassians were behind the weapons shipments, thus discrediting the Circle. (DS9: "The Circle")

From 2370 onward, Kressari were frequent visitors to the Promenade of Deep Space 9 and Quark's. (DS9: "Necessary Evil")

In the late 32nd century, the Kressari had diplomatic relations with Betazed. (SA: "The Life of the Stars")

According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 47) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"),, there was a star system named Kressari, which might possibly be the system of origin for this species, in the Alpha Quadrant. This was a binary system with a pair of K-class stars. In the late 24th century, this was an independent system.
According to StarTrek.com, the Kressari were from a homeworld and/or a system with a primary named Kressari. [1](X)
