House of Kraag crest
The House of Kraag was one of the eight remaining Klingon Great Houses in the late 32nd century. It was led by the triad of Drekol, Enok, and L'vanna; they had two sons, Thar and Jay-Den. The family had a rite of passage in which one became a warrior after making their first kill in a hunt; they would then receive a HurwI' crafted by their father.
In 3194, the House was encamped in the wilderness of Krios Prime. After Thar was killed in an altercation with a trader, Drekol and Jay-Den fell out over Jay-Den's desire to join Starfleet Academy and become a healer, rather than a warrior. Afterward, the House departed the planet in their ship, leaving Jay-Den behind.
The following year, members of all eight Houses, including Jay-Den's parents, were en route to a refugee camp on Taurus VII when their heavy cargo carrier suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure and crashed. Jay-Den's parents were subsequently found alive and brought to the new Klingon homeworld of Faan Alpha. (SA: "Vox In Excelso")
At the end of the 3196 Starfleet Academy spring semester, Jay-Den performed the R'uustai with fellow cadets Caleb Mir, SAM, Genesis Lythe, and Darem Reymi, welcoming them into his House. Mir hesitated to accept, though Jay-Den already regarded him as a chosen brother. (SA: "300th Night")
