guianensis: frigatebird, Fregata magnificens (Matheus, 1914); brown boobie, Sula leucogaster (Boddaert, 1783);
Neotropic cormorant, Phalacrocorax brasilianus (Gmelin, 1789); and tern, Sterna sp.
Little is known on the genetics of killifishes inhabiting the
neotropics. Austrolebias cf.
Six habitats are used for nesting in Laguna Cuyutlan: Mangroves on larger islands (pelecaniformes and ciconiiformes); mangrove shrubs on islets (green heron); low islets in shallow water (black-necked stilt, laughing gull, royal tern, gull-billed tern, Forster's tern, and black skimmer); marsh (clapper rail); saltflats (snowy and Wilson's plovers and least tern); and patches of tropical deciduous forest (
neotropic cormorant, black-bellied whistling-duck).
Also there is great similarity between the area studied and other areas in the
Neotropics in terms of species density per hectare and the number of trees.
Neotropic Cormorant (Phalacrocorax brasilianus): On 23 April 2005 this species was very abundant among the canopy of the mangrove and tropical forest of Mogote Prieto, and one individual flew in carrying nest material.
Abstract: Two new species are described for the
Neotropics, four species are newly accepted, and four species and one variety are reported.
The broadleaved forest biome, also known as Amazonia or Amazon Jungle, covers most of the Amazon River basin and forms part of the
Neotropic bioregion.
Surveillance using serological and molecular methods for the detection of infectious agents in captive Brazilian
neotropic and exotic felids.
Three high-demand species seemed to pop up everywhere in 2017:
neotropic cormorant, merlin and prairie warbler.
These forests occur in disjunct patches scattered throughout the
Neotropic, and the major biomes where SDNF is in contact are the savanna woodland (e.g., the Cerrado), lowland tropical rainforest, and montane forest [7].
On 17 January 2014 (1100-1145h), I observed an aggregation of ducks,
Neotropic cormorants (Phalacrocorax brasilianus), pied-billed grebes (Podilymbus podiceps), and 75 American coots diving to feed on small fish in an artificial lake (1.17 ha) on the Arizona City golf course, Pinal County, Arizona (32[degrees]45.040N, 111[degrees]40.090W).
