Pulled elbow Orthopedics Subluxation of the radial head, caused by a longitudinal 'yank' on the forearm–by a nursemaid, etc, forcing the child's elbow into extension; the subluxation is reduced by firm supination at 90º and extension, followed by immobilization with a posterior splint or a sling.
