Displays & Natural Areas
Take a walk through the Arb’s displays and natural areas and see how plants, wildlife, and landscapes come together. Trails, meadows, and special plantings make each area a chance to notice something new.
Visitor Center
The James D. Reader Jr. Urban Environmental Education Center is a welcoming space for visitors. It offers amenities such as restrooms, information resources, and the support of a friendly and knowledgeable staff. The Reader Center is open 10:00 am - 4:00 pm April through October.

Trails at the Arb
Explore the natural beauty and diversity of Nichols Arboretum through nearly 3.5 miles of scenic trails that intricately weave through this stunning landscape. Our trail system connects all three entrances, making it easy for visitors to embark on a journey of discovery, with helpful maps available at Nichols Drive, Geddes Road, and Washington Heights entrances to guide your exploration.
