Eligible checked out items now automatically renew before they're due, helping you avoid overdue charges if you forget to renew or return them.
A few days before your due date, you'll receive an email letting you know whether your item was renewed. Items with pending holds, no renewals remaining, or accounts with fines over $10 are not eligible for auto-renew.
Keep an eye on your due dates in the PINES app or at gapines.org. Courtesy reminders will still be sent for any items that can't be renewed automatically.

One year ago, Live Oak Public Library became Georgia’s first—and still only—Book Sanctuary Library.
By Lola DeWitt, Executive Director, Live Oak Public Library and Director-at-Large of the Public Library Association board
Live Oak Public Library is proud to be the first—and only—public library system in Georgia to be designated a Book Sanctuary Library, and one of the first in the South. The unanimous decision by the Regional Board of Trustees reaffirms our commitment to protecting the freedom to read and ensuring access to diverse stories and ideas.
The Carnegie Library Heritage Center honors the Library’s legacy as a beacon of knowledge and empowerment for Black Savannahians during segregation and beyond. Through oral histories, exhibits, and interactive displays, the Center uplifts these stories, connects generations, and ensures our shared history continues to inspire the future. Visit the renamed and reimagined Carnegie Library Heritage Center today!
