renaming categories
[recensere]Ave Demetrie :) I thank you for correcting the Latin names of those authors and the corresponding cotegories, but next time please, if you can, put in the old, renamed category the template {{Delete|renamed category}}, so a sysop (i.e. me) can later find and delete these categories; there is no point in keeping them. Have a nice day, vale, --Barbaking (disputatio) 17:34, 21 Ianuarii 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, thanks, I was thinking what to do with the old category Demetrius Talpa (disputatio) 17:42, 21 Ianuarii 2021 (UTC)
Could you check this page?
[recensere]Could you check the spelling and grammar of this? I tried to transcribe as best as I could, but I could have left some mistakes. Veverve (disputatio) 08:14, 15 Februarii 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, Ι looked part, I will read more in other day. Demetrius Talpa (disputatio) 18:46, 15 Februarii 2021 (UTC)
Lex Bellomontis
[recensere]Ave Demetrie! You changed the title from the name universally used for this text which is in French (Loi de Beaumont) to a self-developed Latin one. I question whether this makes sense, but if that is the accepted policy of this project, fine. But then it should be changed either to "Lex Belli Montis" (because the text itself in the first paragraph calls the name of the place which in French is called Beaumont as "Bellus mons") or to a Latin name mentioned in literature which is Lex Bellimontis (Cordes, Handwörterbuch zur Deutschen Rechtsgeschichte, Art. Loi de Beaumont). I also am not clear what the grammatical logic would be of saying "Bello". I do not think I have the right or skill to change an article name, so if leave it to you if you should be convinced. Phraster (disputatio) 18:22, 5 Augusti 2024 (UTC)
- It was over a year ago, I don't remember very well. The form "Bellomontis" is found in Medieval Latin, as GoogleBooks shows. I think it should be changed to "Leх Bellimontis", if it is accepted Latin name. Of course, you have the right to change the name, but if you really don't have the skill (it is not difficult), I will change it. Demetrius Talpa (disputatio) 18:49, 5 Augusti 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for doing that Phraster (disputatio) 18:41, 9 Augusti 2024 (UTC)
John Selden
[recensere]You recently redirected the page Scriptor:Ioannis Seldeni to Scriptor:Ioannes Seldenus, and removed all mention of the name Ioannis Seldeni from the page. The name by which John Selden is most commonly known in all of his Latin publications is Ioannis Seldeni. Is there a reason you made Ioannes Seldenus the main title? I've only seen one, maybe two works of his when he was known by the title "Seldenus". Thanks! Erblanchard57 (disputatio) 23:33, 1 Ianuarii 2026 (UTC)
- In Latin books, the author's name is written in the genitive case (as an answer to the question "whose?"). Publii Vergilii Maronis "Aeneis"— author is Publius Vergilius Maro. Ioannis Seldeni book — author is Ioannes Seldenus. Cf. captions , 2. Demetrius Talpa (disputatio) 23:40, 1 Ianuarii 2026 (UTC)
- Okay! Thanks for the explanation! Erblanchard57 (disputatio) 03:02, 2 Ianuarii 2026 (UTC)
Found Google book for "Versus in coena Domini ..."
[recensere]I think that I found a book scan for your Versus in coena Domini et Parasceve et Sabbato Sancto (Auctor incertus)
This seems to be correct editor and has "Patrologia Latina Tomus 138" inside it as "PATROLOGIÆ TOMUS CXXXVIII." and page 544 has the complete text of your page, though not formatted the same.
- The link doesn't work, but OK, thanks, I'll find it in the next few days. Demetrius Talpa (disputatio) 08:11, 27 Februarii 2026 (UTC)
