I've disabled inputs during playback/record which should fix the game breaking bugs that a few of you have mentioned here. Please let me know if you find more!

Interesting concept. I found it exceptionally difficult to get the longer words down. I think it might be more enjoyable if you had a mastermind style mechanic where it would highlight which letters were correct and in the right place as well as correct but in the wrong place, allowing me to more rapidly build the verbs. Great work!

Developer

I've been trying to think of a good way to add more feedback for partially correct guesses - that's a great suggestion, thanks!

This was so fun! I really enjoyed figuring out the puzzle. Very clean execution

I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Challenging game wit a very nice idea!

Got the first 2 words, then I had the silly idea of playing a note while a word was playing and it just never stopped playing the note which made it hard to figure out the rest.

I'll give it another go later!

Would be cool to experiment with placement on the board, like instead of having the letters in order from a to z, have them placed so the words do some nice melody. But it's probably quite tricky.

Very nice game that makes you think and try!

Developer

Thanks! I'll let you know when I've fixed that bug.

I had the same thought about about composing an actual melody then placing the letters accordingly, but didn't have time to implement it. Maybe I'll add some more puzzles later and try that approach. Will definitely be tricky on my end, but would probably make it a little easier for players.

Very poetic and visual. I really liked this game idea, I feel like I used my brain a lot more than I usually would in a jam game and trained a skill in the process. 5 stars from me!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad it made you use your brain in a fun way! I was worried it would be too hard and therefore frustrating.

I think it has a smaller niche. I like difficult games hahah, but other people may get frustrated especially if they're not into music.

If you want to make it more accessible for such people you could allow them to listen to one letter at a time 🤷‍♂️. Maybe two modes experienced/beginner, one with words and one with letters. Idk hahah just a thought

Interesting idea!

I got the record button stuck each time I tried to play (firefox).

Having the letter assignments threw me off a bit (like having a D on the C-note), but I'm not sure how you would be able to code the whole alphabet without doing that.

Great job thinking of something new!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Do you mean you couldn't toggle record off in Firefox? (You have to do that before you press Play.) It's working properly there for me. Can you help me figure out how to reproduce the bug?

Submitted(+1)

Yeah it was like the button got stuck.  I just tried again and couldn't reproduce it, so not sure what the conditions need to be, but I was recording the first word when it happened.

Really unique entry! I enjoyed it a lot!

Wow I am so musically incompetent 😭😭 Random button mashing until it looks correct is what I tried, but failed... Very cool game! Just wish there was some indicators for when you get something wrong to point you into the right direction. For people who have music skill issue like me.

That's a good game! Thanks for submitting this. I am short on time so I only managed 4 words so far but I will retry, and if it's only to train my ears. Shame that I had to do so much guesswork, I thought I'd do better as hobby musician.

In the first run I had a gamebreaking bug btw where noneof the two buttons would react to anything. Had to reload the page. just fyi

Developer

Thanks for the head's up. Had you done anything at all yet, or did it load broken somehow?

This is a really neat interpretation of the theme. I hit a bug that caused a constant buzzing sound, needed to restart. Cool game, congrats on finishing.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Can you tell me how to reproduce the bug?

Submitted

Can't remember tbh. I just tried to reproduce the bug and I couldn't. It was something to do with recording a random tune, then playing the hiku.

Nice ear-training puzzle! It was hard but very entertaining. Great job!

It's better to block piano keys input while playing as it leads to bug which requires game restart.

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for letting me know about the bug.

I really like the concept of this! The graphics are really cool. I would suggest adding the functionality to press keys by typing on your keyboard, like some other online keyboards.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, I'm realizing I should have done that. I'll add that feature after the voting period.
