1. Someone who is short and solid or stocky in build. Henry, your grandmother simply can't pick you up anymore—you're too much of a hoddy-doddy. 2. A foolish or simple-minded person. I am not surprised to hear that a hoddy-doddy like him has already squandered his inheritance. My parents want to arrange a marriage between George and myself, but I know I would be completely miserable married to a hoddy-doddy like him.
