ask up
(redirected from asking up)ask up
To invite a visitor to one's house (especially if the visitor must travel north to get there). My cousins in Pennsylvania have asked me up to their house for the weekend, but that's a long drive from Florida. I did ask Mary up, but she's busy this Saturday. I have friends in Boston who are always asking us up. It would be a quick flight from New Jersey—I think we should pick a weekend and go!
