Notary Public services are available at our locations. Please call for more information.

Cost
The fee is $5 per appointment.
Availability
Notary Services are available by appointment and walk-ins. A phone consultation is advised prior to the appointment. English- and Spanish-speaking Agents are available.
Guidelines

For Notary Services to be performed, you must provide two forms of identification; a picture ID as well as another current form of identification containing your signature. Acceptable forms of ID include:

A current passport from any country

A valid driver’s license
-
A valid state ID
-
A signed library card, credit card, debit card or work ID
-
Birth certificates and Social Security cards are not acceptable ID

Be sure the documents are complete and ready for signature (do not sign the document until you are in the presence of a Notary.) Do NOT sign the document ahead of time. The signer MUST sign the document IN FRONT OF THE NOTARY.

All signers must be present.

If your document requires a witness (or multiple witnesses), you must bring someone you know with you to the appointment. Library staff cannot serve as witnesses.

If you need legal advice, please consult an attorney.

Notaries cannot certify copies of vital records such as birth, marriage and death certificates. Note that certified copies of these can be obtained from the issuing authority.

Notaries can refuse service at their discretion.
The library is NOT able to notarize the following:

wills or living wills

I-9 (USCIS employee verification) forms

prenuptial agreements
-
vital records
-
tax returns
-
military records
-
judicial decrees
-
petitions
-
real estate documents
-
power of attorney
