It has been suggested to rename this article to Random Event: Snatched.
The reason given is: Consistency - see Random Events in GTA Online.

Snatched is a random event which activates at a specific location on South Mo Milton Drive in Vinewood Hills. This mission can be attempted by any of the three protagonists.

Overview[]

If the player arrives quickly enough, they spot two members of The Lost MC carrying a girl against her will. They load the girl into a Gang Burrito. The player can prevent the van from escaping by shooting the driver dead. Otherwise, the van speeds to the East Vinewood headquarters of The Lost. To save the girl, stop the van and kill the three Lost gang members before they reach their HQ. After all three are dead, the girl will leave the van, express her gratitude, and ask for a ride to Chumash.

"...you don't just leave the Lost. You're locked in."

Along the way, between the three protagonists, the saved girl will describe her decade-long, hard-partying, drug-fuelled life with The Lost and refer to it as a "commitment", which at some point led to her being "passed around like a piece of meat by older men", implying that she suffered prolonged gang rape, which led her to suffer low self-esteem issues. According to her story, she eventually took part in "shrink sessions", which seems to have helped her realise her relationship with The Lost MC members was "sick" and that she was a "victim". This apparently gave her the impetus to leave The Lost, "get treatment" and "start clean", which led her to this situation of attempting escape. However, the longer the uninterrupted drive lasts, the more her story begins to fall apart through slip-ups, and her sincerity begins to all but disappear, replaced with disingenuity and shallow pretentiousness. She eventually confesses that the Lost gang members she is attempting to escape from are her "uncles" who raised her, and further confesses that they tried to stop her from seeing her boyfriend, saying, "They'd frozen my allowance. I had no money".

[speaking in whispers on her phone] "It went bad, real bad, but I'm OK. Yeah, don't worry, I got the money"

About halfway to Chumash, a pair of two-up (a driver and pillion passenger) Lost MC motorcycles will suddenly appear behind the player's vehicle out of nowhere. No matter how fast the player is driving, the bikes are scripted to stay behind, and outrunning them is impossible. Furthermore, the gang members have seemingly perfect aim and can kill the player very quickly, or blow the tires off the player's vehicle. Shooting them down fast is essential.

Depending on which protagonist was used in the mission, some of the dialogues will be different, notably:

  • Franklin says that the girl should find some new friends and that she probably already got her revenge on The Lost. When the girl reveals that the bikers were actually her uncles, and that she ran away because she stole money from them, Franklin says that she is "cold".
  • Michael comments that his daughter is almost the same age as her. After the girl explains her situation regarding The Lost, Michael comments, "they sound like real gentlemen". Also, Michael seems astonished by her joining The Lost, apparently just to get back at her parents. He comments in a seemingly impressed tone, "Holy shit! And I thought my daughter went way out of her way to punish me". When he later finds out the truth, Michael is evidently annoyed and seemingly regretful, exclaiming that he is "naive" as he was drawn in by her original story.
  • Trevor, whose reactions are more unique and eccentric, says that he would have killed the members of The Lost even if they were not kidnapping her because he doesn't have a friendly relationship with them. As she narrates her story with the gang, Trevor says that it only renews the hate for The Lost MC that he already has, and that it will be his pleasure to kill all of them for her. All three protagonists call the Lost members "punks", but by the end of the discourse, they all seem to regret being drawn into killing these men, apart from Trevor, who exclaims that he is impressed with her and that the situation "really has been win-win all around".

By the end of the journey, the Lost gang members involved in the incident start to seem like caring family members who were simply trying to protect the young girl from her questionable boyfriend, who is seemingly her accomplice in the theft, along with the player, albeit unwittingly. The mission ends when the player arrives at the Chumash destination. As she is exiting the vehicle, the girl requests that these events and the resulting conversation be best forgotten, and she walks up to the house and is not seen again. If the player is playing as Trevor, they can choose to take the girl to the Altruist Camp instead, as a part of the quota to initiate Trevor's shoot-out with the Altruist cult. This will allow for an extra couple of lines of dialogue between Trevor and the girl, and a quiet whimpering as she is led off into the camp at gunpoint.

Oversight[]

  • Even if the Altruist camp event is completed before doing this mission, the game will still tell the player that Trevor can take the girl to the Altruist Cult. Should the player attempt to take her there, nothing will happen.
