J (Latin Capital Letter J, U+004A) is the tenth letter of the modern English alphabet and features prominently in many other Latin-script alphabets worldwide. Visually distinctive, it typically consists of a long vertical stroke that descends below the baseline, terminating in a leftward hook or curl, and often includes a horizontal crossbar at the top. Historically, 'J' is a comparatively recent addition to the Latin alphabet, evolving from the letter 'I' in the Middle Ages.
