In WordPress 7.0, the "Hide" option is missing from the Shortcode block context menu.
Shortcode blocks that were hidden in WordPress 6.9.4 become visible on the frontend
after upgrading to 7.0, and there is no way to hide them again.
- In WordPress 6.9.4, add a Shortcode block to a page
- Hide the block using the "Hide" option in the block's three-dot context menu
- Save the page — confirm the block is not visible on the frontend
- Upgrade WordPress to 7.0
- Visit the page on the frontend — the previously hidden Shortcode block is now visible
- Go back to the editor — the "Hide" option is no longer available in the Shortcode block context menu
