Hey, I'm Rubén
About me
Web developer, around a year in at ITBS. I work on an internal app the company runs on. I'm also doing a Software Engineering degree at UVEG. Picked up some front-end certs over the years too — Frontend Masters, Udemy, freeCodeCamp. Right now I'm pushing toward full stack with TypeScript. That's the goal. I keep a few side projects running, and they basically are my portfolio. The one I actually care about is Aprende Hanzi — spaced repetition for learning Chinese characters. Think Anki, but built just for hanzi. It's in production. 20-something people are using it. Email: rubenldc1412@gmail.com
Outside of work
LeetCode, a lot of it. Not because I love puzzles — I just want the fundamentals and data structures to be second nature. I use Vim. Inside VS Code, and pretty much everywhere else. Touching the mouse feels like a small failure at this point. Which turned into a whole keyboard automation rabbit hole — custom layers, shortcuts, my own snippets. Mandarin's on the list. Haven't started. Will eventually. One weird goal: getting good enough with a screen reader (NVDA) to use a computer without a monitor. And brain-computer interfaces. Talking to a machine straight from your head. Commercially it's years off and the hard problems are stacked deep, but I can't stop thinking about it.
