Description
Enabling the menu bar on Pinta will spawn an in-window menu bar, not sending it to the KDE Global Menu widget. This bug doesn't occur in other apps, signaling that it might be a Pinta bug.
To Reproduce
- Use KDE Plasma
- Create Global Menu widget on a panel
- Enable Menu bar display on Pinta under View → Show/Hide
Additional Info
Screenshots
Menu bar in Pinta (ver 3.2)

Menu bar in Zen Browser

Pinta's behavior is exactly the same with the flatpak package, and the AUR pinta and pinta-git packages.
Something else I thought would be useful for the development team to know:
A month after #1418 was merged, a user in issue #781 pointed out that this interaction was working properly:
Appears to be working fine on KDE. Much better than before with unified menu which required extra clicks.
#781 (comment)
It may be that an update since then (June 2025), either on KDE's side or Pinta's, broke this interaction.
Version
KDE Plasma v6.5.5
CachyOS with kernel 6.18.6-2-cachyos
Tested on Pinta v3.1.1 stable and v3.2 Git
Please let me know if I can provide any additional details.
