Play Critter Bonanza!
Game Rules
Each trading card has been assigned a point value on the lower right corner of the front of the card. These values allow kids to use the cards in a 2-player, war-style card game.
How it works
Players shuffle all the cards together. Players keep any rare cards they have collected.
The deck is divided evenly and dealt one at a time, face down. Each player takes their stack of cards, shuffles them, and hides their stack from the other player. If a player has a rare card, they can keep it on the side of their stack for later use.
Each player turns up a card from their stack at the same time and the player with the higher valued card takes both cards.
If both players play a card of equal value, it is a tie. Each player plays one additional card face-up as a tie-breaker. The player with the highest card takes all four cards played on that hand. If a tie occurs again, this process continues until one face-up card is higher than all the others, and the winner takes all the cards played.
Rare ability: Rare cards are indicated with a yellow bookmark and a point value of 100. Players can choose to play this card alongside another card once during the game. Playing a rare card with another card doubles the points of the non-rare card.
Card type bonus: Each card is one of four types (Explore, Discover, Connect, Create). During play, if a player’s card type matches the card type played before it, the player adds +25 to the value of the card in play. Card types are indicated by symbols: Explore = magnifying glass | Discover = sparkle | Connect = lighting bolt | Create = paintbrush
How to win
When each player has played all their cards, the player with the most cards wins the round. The first to win 3 rounds wins the game.
