Subnautica 2 console commands let you enable god mode, spawn items, unlock every blueprint, change the time of day, and remove crafting costs. Since the game launched in early access without a built-in debug console like the original game, players currently need two NexusMods files to unlock the debug console on PC. Once installed, pressing F2 opens the command menu and lets you type in cheat codes in Subnautica 2.

How to Unlock the Console in Subnautica 2
Right now, the console is only accessible through mods. The process only takes a few minutes if you already know where your game files are located.
- First, download the UE4SS mod for Subnautica 2 from NexusMods. After that, download the Console Commands mod from NexusMods as well.
- Open your Steam library and find Subnautica 2. Right-click the game, select Manage, then choose Browse Local Files. From there, navigate to: Subnautica2\Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64
- Extract the UE4SS files into the Win64 folder.
- Next, open the UE4SS folder, then open the Mods folder inside it. Extract the Console Commands mod files there.
- Launch the game and press F2 to open the debug console.
- You will also see clickable buttons for some basic functions like survival toggles and inventory options, but typed commands unlock far more features.

Best Console Commands to Use Early
If you are just trying to cut down on grinding, nocost is probably the most useful command in the game right now. It removes all crafting requirements, which makes building bases and upgrading gear way less time-consuming.
The item command proved extremely useful for us when certain materials become hard to find.
If you want to safely explore dangerous areas or test vehicles without getting chased by giant sea creatures, god and invisible work really well together. We found that Leviathans completely ignored us while invisible mode is active.
Changing the field of view can also make the game feel much better, especially on ultrawide monitors.
Since Subnautica 2 is still in early access, some commands may stop working temporarily after updates.
FAQs
Can you use console commands without mods?
At the moment, no official built-in console exists for players. Mods are required to access commands on PC.
Can console commands corrupt saves?
Most commands are safe, but early access games are unpredictable. Backing up your save files before testing cheats is still recommended.
