You can read again the complete information about Junior Euroweek in Amsterdam at the ESCKAZ blog (photo/video). We thank Dutch broadcaster for the great TV show it has produced and all 12 participating delegations for their kind cooperation. In 2007-2012 ESCKAZ has firmly established itself as the leading site in coverage of the contest, alongside official site.

ESCKAZ has Delivered You First: reports on arrival of the delegations, on the Welcome Party, first exclusive video interviews with all 12 participants, organizers and special guests, complete photo/video reports from rehearsals and the dress-rehearsal etc. For the first time in JESC ESCKAZ has used 12-years old kid-singer Ivan Smidovich as our reporter.

Junior Eurovision 2013 is likely to take place in Ukraine. Official announcement will be done by the end of December.
Belgium (deadline 11/01) and The Netherlands (deadline 22/02) have already opened submissions periods for the contest. Sweden and Russia will launch preselections in Spring.

This year ESCKAZ again brings back for the 4th year the concept of rankings made of three-tier system, which include marks for each songs from "Junior Jury", "Professional Jury" and viewers vote.

As usual, within "Junior Jury" we tried to gather children and already grown-ups of different ages (13 to 19), who took part at the Junior Eurovisions of different years (2003, 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2011) representing different regions of Europe (from Eastern to Western).

"Professional Jury" of ESCKAZ website is made of Eurovision expert Andy Mikheev (the only independent press member who had worked live at JESC 2007-11 and will be heading ESCKAZ team live in Amsterdam as well), OGAE Rest of the World president Roy van der Merwe from South Africa and singer Ivan Smidovich (participant of JESC 2010 in Minsk and several Russian national finals as lead and backing singer, who will play a special role in Amsterdam coverage as well).

"Viewers vote" are the results of our site's poll. Stable visiting figures from all participating countries give us a right to say that outcome of the biggest JESC online poll is quite representative as the opinion of contest "fanbase".

23/11 Swedish participant Lova Sonnerbo is counting days before her departure to Amsterdam on her blog. It's 3 days left!

Today it was the last day in school for Lova before the departure, and, of course, she had received many wishes from her classmates.Preparing for JESC, Lova also had practice with her school choir, because they are going to perform at Friends Arena on some occasions.

Yesterday, singer has recorded radio interview with P4 anchor Annicka Jankell, it will be aired on P4 at 19.00 on November 30. She also had a briefing in SVT, where she was introduced to the quite busy schedule that awaits her next week. But she isn't complaining, she thinks it's fun! "Even though it feels a bit scary but I just want time to go faster so I can enter the stage and perform!", she writes. Lova is also planning to learn how to say "hello" and "thank you" in all languages that will take part in JESC 2012.

Couple of days ago Lova has tried her stage outfits for Amsterdam, prepared by designer Thomas Malmros. She thinks that her dress is absolutely stunning.

23/11 The Belarusian delegation of 15 people, including 5 children, travels to Amsterdam to take part in the Junior Eurovision on 26th November. However, as the agency "Interfax-West" has learnt, there appeared unforeseen problems with booking of the hotel.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the staff of the BTRC has received from earlier booked and paid hotel on November 15 unexpected note, stating that the hotel did not get the money via bank transfer, as the French bank blocked the payment. But the money in the amount of approximately 6000 euro has not been returned by the bank to Belarus. The letter states that the rooms will remain booked, but the delegation will need to find a solution for the payment.

The press service of BTRC confirmed the existence of this problem, but assured that the young Belarusian singer Yegor Zheshko in any case, will perform at the contest, while payment for the room for the children and the delegation, in the worst case, will be made by cash or credit card.

Current prices in hotel Mercure for the JESC week are 872 Euros for double and 826 Euros for the single room per week.

23/11 Not everyone knows that Anastasiya Petrik is also soloist of choir of Minstry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Today, in Kyiv MIA has organize great concert, while singer herself received congratulations from the interior minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko. "We were supporting you at the national preselection and now will be rooting for your victory at Eurovision. I'm sure that you will become the winner of the contest", said Zakharchenko. he also presented to young singer a talisman - doll, which she promised to keep with her for a luck. In her turn, Anastasiya Petryk has thanked minister and presented to him t-shirt with logo of Eurovision and number of her position in the running order.

The celebration was also attended by deputy internal minister of Ukraine Serhiy Lyekar, President of the National Academy of Internal Affairs Valentyn Kovalenko, designer Diana Dorozhkina and other honored guests. Nastya has promised to bring Ukraine the victory, and presented her song Nebo, which she will be performing at the contest.

23/11 What do polls say? Ukrainian public broadcaster is running a poll on it's site among the entries of JESC 2012, excluding Ukrainian entry, it has about 700 votes. So far, 28% of the visitors are going to support Lerika from Russia, Funkids from Georgia are 2nd with 17% and Yegor Zheshko from Ukraine - third with 14%.

250 votes in the similar poll run by Ketnet broadcaster from Belgium. 53% of the voters think Femke from The Netherlands is the biggest rival of Fabian, 17% think it's Lerika from Russia and 10% think it's The Funkids from Georgia.

23/11 Press-conference of delegation of Armenia, devoted to the participation of this country at Junior Eurovision Song Contest, took place today.

Boys from Compass band - David Paronikyan (13 years old), Arshavir Grigoryan (13), Aram Tsaturyan (13 years old) and Abram Aznauryan (12 years old) told that tomorrow - on November 24, their group will celebrate one year anniversary. The group said that they will perform on the stage in the style of The Beatles, and show how much they love this legendary group. "We always listen to The Beatels, we do not copy them, but try to imitate," - said the boys.

The member of Compass band Aram Tsaturyan said: ''The responsibility is great because we introduce our nation, country in the competition like the ''Eurovision'' and we work every day, in order not to disappoint people.'' As their main competitors, Armenian singers consider participants from Israel, Russia and the Netherlands. By the way, the music video to the song of Compass Band Sweetie Baby is already presented, it was shot by Hrant Movsisyan. The Armenian delegation will travel to Amsterdam on the 26th of November.

In Amsterdam, the work will be started, will be filmed videos, etc. "This year the emphasis will be on the documentary footage. This is innovation, which was not there in previous years. Every movement of children will be filmed, they will be constantly in center of attention of cameras, and this will be shown in the postcards during the show," - said at a press conference head of the delegation Gohar Gasparyan.

Armenian Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan has published a letter to her compatriots from "Europe, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia and Jerusalem" devoted to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

"The Armenian nation worships children. Children are our love, our life and our future", says Hranush. "On December 1, we must come together and defend our Armenian children, give them strength, motivate them and make them believe that they are the best, that they represent an entire country, people and nation and that they will definitely win"

"I urge all Armenians and all Armenian organizations and religious structures to make efforts in the Armenian communities and urge foreigners to cast their votes for the Armenian children who will be performing at Junior Eurovision on December 1, 2012. I believe in the unity and consolidation of the Armenian nation and I believe that your patriotism will help make December 1st the day of our joy and success".

Armenian Ministry of Diaspora has organized a video conference with the representatives of Armenian community of Minsk, Odessa and Saint Petersburg. During the video conference Zara Petrosyan the producer of Compass band, which is to represent Armenia in the song contest this year, presented the video clip of the band and urged to actively vote for Armenia.

23/11 IBA devotes 30th of November and 1st of December mostly to children programming, celebrating debut in Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Regular shows of the channel on these days will also feature participation of children. Israeli radio will also support same format, while radio 88FM will also air JESC live with special guests Yuval Caspin, Kobi Menorah, Tal Argaman, Yaron Menashe and Sean Mittelman.

Of course, special coverage will be devoted to Kids.il participation. First part of "Let The Music Win" documentary will be broadcasted on 23/11 at 21.15 (rerun 28/11 at 16.20, 01/12 at 08.50) (watch it online), second part on 30.11 at 21.15.

23/11 Official website of AVRO broadcaster has announced special plans of coverage of Junior Eurovision 2012, taking place in The Netherlands.

First of all, the website will broadcast the opening party of the JESC 2012, at which all participants will present their entries for the first time. Party will take place on Monday at 20.00-22.00 local time.

On Thursday at 17.00 fans in the Netherlands can catch Junior Eurovision News episode on Zapp channel, and after that it will become available online as well. As we already announced earlier, on Saturday at 10.20-10.50 website will host live video chat with Femke.

On Saturday, the day of JESC final, at 19.30-20.00 AVRO site will also broadcast special warm-up act (recorded at 2nd dress rehearsal) - performance of all participants of Junior Songfestival 2012. This performance will not be broadcasted on TV.

During the live broadcast fans will be able to watch the show, chat and judge the songs online. Special streams from "Ice Room" (Green Room) and Commentary Booth will also be available.

21/11 Prime Minister of Moldova Vlad Filat today had a meeting with Denis Midoni, representative of Moldova at the Junior Eurovision 2012. The young singer was accompanied by his parents and authors of the song "Toate vor fi!" - composer Marian Stircea and lyricist Radmila Popovici-Paraschiv. Denis said that he wants to become a great stage artist and will work a lot to become the winner of the competition. The Prime Minister congratulated the young performer and wished success and courage in this important competition, noting that Moldova has exceptional musical talent among children. Vlad Filat told Denis Midone that he would give financial support needed for the prestigious music contest for children.

21/11 Dutch broadcasted AVRO has published "In Da House" video of Femke. In it Femke gives a tour of her home. Meet her sisters, father, one of her best friends and her hamster. (Femke's mother was at work).

Fans will be able to take part in a live video chat with Femke on 1st of December (around 10.15) via Google hangouts. Those who will send most interesting and original questions to Femke via AVRO website will be invited to take part in action though webcam. 20/11 Russian Broadcaster Russia.tv has announced it's schedules for the week, including Junior Eurovision 2012. This year, unfortunately, the contest will be broadcasted live only in European part of territory of Russia - thus in Moscow zone at 23.15 local and 4th zone at 01.15 local. All other regions (Zone 1-3) will be seeing recorded broadcast of the contest at 21.30 local time on Sunday. Satellite channel RTR-Planeta will not broadcast contest this year as well.

One exciting news item is that Russia HD channel will be launched exactly on December the 1st with broadcast of Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

The viewers from Eastern part of Russia still may be able to take part in the voting, provided they will be following show online (knowing voting window time) and known from any sources the telephone numbers to vote, that will be announced later.

21/11 Participant of Eurovision 2012 Sabina Babayeva met with representatives of Azerbaijan at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 Omar and Suada. They spent the day at the entertainment center Park Bulvar, over coffee and dessert in the "Chocoladnitsa" discussed the JESC entry and performed it together. This can be seen in the exclusive report of the program 10Lar, which will be aired on November 20th at 23:00 local time.

Despite the great difference in age between the Azerbaijani stars of "Eurovision" they communicated with each other easily and naturally, talking about life and work, forthcoming contest and the preparation for it. Then Sabina Babayeva, Omar Sultanov and Suada Alekperova went to Happy land, where took a ride on the carousel and children's racing attraction.

"Suada Alekperova and Omar Sultanov are very musical and positive kids. I like that they have no complexes, and they are not afraid and do not hesitate to enter the stage. With all my heart I wish them luck. I'm sure that they will perform at Junior Eurovision - 2012 with great success! "- said in an interview with 1news.az singer Sabina Babayeva. 20/11 EBU has announced today the official rehearsal schedule for Junior Eurovision 2012 (available on our event page).

It contains one major difference, instead of 4 days, rehearsals will now cover only 3 days - Wednesday-Friday. Possible reasons for that are the low number of participating countries, as well as the fact that Heineken Music Hall is booked this Sunday with another concert and construction of stage will require some time. Despite this, each delegation will still have two regular (40 minutes and 20 minutes) plus two Dress rehearsals.

The opening party, however, is kept for Monday evening (20.00 in the official hotel) thus meaning that all delegations will gather in Amsterdam by that time. It is currently unknown what program will be offered to delegations on Tuesday.

Dutch TV Director David Grifhorst and Dutch choreographer Gerald van Windt are working hard on the spectacular opening of the 2012 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. 15/11 Belgian broadcaster VRT has revealed it's coverage plans of Junior Eurovision 2012. The show will be, as usual, broadcasted live on Een, first national channel. Re-run on Sunday 2 December at 10.05 am on Ketnet. Commentators of the show this year will be Tom De Cock and Astrid Demeure.

Tom De Cock (b. 1983) is best known as a radio presenter at MNM. He began his radio career in 2008 at Donna. Later he presented "De Cock Late Night" on MNM. Since early September, he can be heard in "Planeet De Cock". For Tom this is third year working with JESC: "It is a great party every time, we can cheer for our country and Juniors are in terms of vocal talent and stage shows not losing to their adult colleagues. Voting is always legendery exciting, especially for someone as bad at math as I am. Hopefully, my colleague Astrid will have a calculator", he says.

Astrid Demeure (b. 1986) went after her studies to work as a VJ at TMF, where in 2008-2011 she presented program "WTF?!". Since October 2011, Astrid is MNM-dj, where she presented "MNM Request" and "Bootylicious". Currently she can be heard every weekend on MNM in "Saturday and Sunday Pop-Up". "I'm going to have a great fun. I love to watch large-scale shows. Having an expert like Kristien Maes as predecessor, the bar is very high and so it will be more exciting for me.", she says.

Single contains Swedish entry as well it's instrumental and is available at all major online retailers. 14/11 Winner of Junior Eurovision 2009 Ralf Mackenbach will perform as special guest of the JESC final on December 1st. 13/11 Yesterday, Denis Midone has successfully completed his fund-raising concert. A lot of local performers have attended the show and performed for free, so that all profits from the concert can be used in Junior Eurovision campaign of the young Moldovan singer. According to calculations of his family, good preparations require at least 20 thousand Euros, and as there was not enough of interest from sponsors, doing the concert was considered to be best thing in fund raising campaign. Tickets for the show have costed between 50 and 100 lei, so the expectations are that concert has raised around 20000 lei (about 1300 Euro) which will be used for stage decorations and costumes for the performers.

"The music video for the bilingual Azeri/English version of the Junior Eurovision entry of Omar Sultanov and Suada Alekeperova has been filmed by Sinex production center in Baku. Members of Kids.il band have spoken to Channel 2 team. First of all they told the story of their selection. "We were chosen at auditions. Several of us were invited as participants of "Music School" show. It has already opened many doors for me, and I was already remembered at the broadcaster", says Adi Bity. "I took part in the competition "Be A Star", where I reached finals, then I was adviced to go to the audition. It was very stressful but exciting, and being chosen brought an amazing feeling", says Adi Mesilati. "My vocal coach has recommended me to the audition along with few other children", says Tali.

Since the preselection the band is hard working on their preparations for the contest. "We had to write a song in two days, and after it was finished and the arrangement was ready, we've started the rehearsals. Then we focused on recording, production of music video and photoshoot. It is our first big contest, so we need to prepare really well for it", says Adel. "Every time we're working with songwriter Ohad Hitman and the team. Now we have a lot of rehearsals. I really enjoy this period", adds Daniel. "We're employed almost full time - practicing choreography, stage movements, having vocal lessons, choosing the clothing. It is a very busy month ahead with a lot of work for us", says Adi Bity. "People outside may think it is very easy - but I almost have no time to breath. I rise at five in the morning, after school I go to rehearsals and do the homework in the late night after I return. I don't have time for friends or holiday parties. But it shouldn't sound as if I'm complaining - I enjoy every minute of it, music is my life".

All kids took an active part in songwriting of their entry. "When we all met, we've shared ideas on the subject on which the song should be written. My idea was to break down the walls between people through music, and everyone liked this idea. Then everyone have been adding their thoughts. Adel, for example, suggested that we can combine different languages", says Libi. "We wrote on paper some words and sentences that we wanted to be used, and suggested many ideas. Then Ohad took home all our thoughts and returned the other day with a song. When we've heard it - it was a huge excitement, as we all have found the phrases we've suggested inside the song. Basically we've been putting together the puzzle, and Ohad has helped us to create this amazing music. Working together also helped us to become friends from the very first minute", adds Tali. "What was odd, is that everyone agreed with everyone. The idea that music should break down the walls between people have been supported by all members of the group", says Daniel.

"When recording the song we've again gathered in studio, and there Daniel just sat down and started to play the song on piano that was there. He had no notes, nothing on paper, but has played it incredibly real, and we've all joined him in singing - it was a great unifying moment and very exciting for all of us", says Adi Bity. "After the recording Ohad has divided roles on stage as appropriate for everyone and we trusted him in this. Everyone has own good job in the performance", explains Daniel. "I am used to work as part of a band for many years, as I sing in "Sharonit" from the age of three. So it all goes natural for me. I think the connection between us was immediate. It also helped that three of us know each other well from "Music School" project and we're happy to be together again", says Adi Bity. "Everyone in our group has a different voice and all of us have stage experience. We all know that our success is very much depending on our work together as group. We need to be there for each other, trusting and helping to our friends", says Adel. "I feel being part of winning team where other children have become my best friends", says Tali.

"We will have a pretty big team in Amsterdam. First of all our delegation, it is very experienced in adult Eurovision, but their mission now will be slightly different. Each of us will also be joined by at least one parent, but some will be accompanied by both parents and siblings. It will be great to have support from our families who will be close to us and watch us performing from the audience", says Adi Bity.

Kids.il have already listened to the songs of other countries in the competition. "I was really excited by songs of Ukraine and The Netherlands. I also think that our song is definitely a candidate for victory, as it is very beautiful and catchy", says Daniel. Adi Bity agrees: "Our song is excellent and certainly deserves to be a winner. Russia should also do well, Dutch entry is also good". "Indeed Tic Tac of the Netherlands and song of Russia are our strongest competitors", think Adel. "The competition is going to be tough, all songs are excellent, I liked the one of Georgia", says Adi Mesilati.

"It is a tremendous honour for us to take part in this competition and represent Israel. But also very stressful and exciting", says Daniel. "In our heart we dream and hope to win. I think that we have a song that can bring us victory, but I'm afraid to dream out loud. Recent years show that competitions as this always involve a lot of politics, and don't leave much space for the purity of music. So the best for me is to show all we can, and if we win, it will be a pleasant surprise", says Adi Bity. "I hope our success puts Israel on the map and our country will open additional ways to create relationships and processes of the world peace", says Adel. "If we win - it will be a best feeling in the world. But even if we won't - it still is an amazing experience", says Adi Mesilati. "We will give all our efforts to become the best. If we succeed it may become the most important event in the recent years of Israeli art", promises Tali. "This will be the pride for all of us and hopefully we also make Israel proud", adds Libi.

Belarus and Ukraine has versions that have been already presented (different from the national finals ones).

In karaoke section Russian entry is presented in full instrumental version. Ukrainian entry has no backing vocals, Moldovan song only has additional female backing vocal on track. Most of the entries are using backing vocals in the chorus - from the minor ones (Sweden) to identical to the studio versions (Belarus, Israel). Entry of Azerbaijan has lowered double vocal on most of the song, while Albania has been covered with double vocal all through. 06/11 Belteleradiocompany continues preparations for Junior Eurovision. We remid that Belarus will be represented 12-year-old citizen of Minsk Yegor Zheshko with the song "A more-more...". In recent days, a new arrangement of the song, adding more drive to it, has been created, which also lead to changes and improvements in the stage performance. With Yegor is working choreographer Elena Kozyro and last rehearsal showed that the performance has found a new breath, and there were added brightness and dynamism. Designer Elena Kishko is also working on a new stage outfits for Yegor and his team.

Meanwhile, Yegor Zheshko himself, after work with stylist Lolita Uguryan-Tumilovich and organized by designer Anna Gorbachev (who for many years is collaborating with Belteleradiocompany in preparation for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest) photoshoot is no longer smoothed boy student, as we saw him during the final of the "Song for Eurovision ", but a mischievous boy who sings about the sea, the sun and happiness.

The other day BTRC has started working with a young host, who will announce scores from Belarus during the broadcast of the competition. She is student of 6th grade of Metropolitan Gymnasium � 24 Maria Drozdova. BTRC will be broadcasting the show live on "Belarus 1" and "Belarus 24", but the name of the commentator of the competition this year is not yet known. Denis Kurian, who for many years worked with BT and was host of the contest in 2010, has decided to pursue other projects.

Denis Midone - Toate vor fi (at Ring Star)

Last weekend, Moldovan entrant Denis Midone has been special guest of Junior show Ring Star on TRM. "It all started as a joke. We were returning back from "Slavic Bazaar" and composer Marian Starcea has approached us and proposed to participate in Junior Eurovision. Two weeks after, he called us again and told that the song is ready. When I heard the song, I said - it is mine, and I will not give it to anyone else. We thought it's a new opportunity to move forward", says young singer. His father, Nicolae Midone adds that Denis is just 10 years old, but they thought this experience is worth of trying. "When we learnt that we've been chosen for Amsterdam, we went very happy, but in next few days realized that the costs are enormous and we have to get money for preparations from somewhere". "Yes, we were very excited", says Denis, "My mother cried and pupils at school didn't believe me, until they saw videos and interviews on TV. It was like living a dream, I'm now big star in school and I'm asked a lot for the autographs".

Denis also spoke about his typical day in the life: "I wake up at 7am, at 10 I have singing and dancing lessons, then dinner, and then school stydies. I have no weekends. Even though now I have vacation from school, I have a schedule even more tight than when I have school lessons. There is only one month left before the contest, and we still have to do a lot of preparations". Dance coach of Denis says he is a diligent boy: "I'm very pleased with him, he is very obedient. He strives to make everything better. He has excellent memorable song so I think he will represent his country with honour at Junior Eurovision".

Lyricist of the song, Radmila Popovici-Paraschiv says Denis has very high level for 10 years and will get a good result. "The song was born on one peaceful morning, I woke up and listened to my heart. When I presented it to Marian Starcea, he told me, it is a good song for the contest. I didn't know that the kid is just 10 years old, so we have to do some adjustments to it. But I'm glad that his face with feckles and blue eyes are giving us even more than we expected".

On 12th of November, Denis will hold his concert "Toate vor fi", in which he will be supported by many stars of Moldovan music and show business. The concert will be produced by Marian Starcea. It will take place in the National Philarmonic on 12th of November at 18.30 local time. The concert may be broadcasted on TRM on a later date.

Theme Song Junior Eurovision Song Contest - Break the Ice - Kim-Lian van der Meij

Exclusively for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012, co-host of the show Kim-Lian van der Meij dove into the recording studio to record this years theme song 'Break the Ice'. The song is produced by Swedish top producer Jorgen Ringqvist and has a sensational video clip, which will be played as of November 3rd on Dutch Television.

"Femke op weg naar Amsterdam" program will tell about the latest preparations of Dutch JESC finalist Femke and will be broadcasted on 19th of November at 16.47 on Zapp (repeated 23/11, 15.31 and 01.12, 11.56)

News bulletin "Journaal" will air report on preparations of Amsterdam to Junior Eurovision on 29/11 at 17.03 and 01/12 at 10.06

"Femke in Amsterdam" will tell about Femke's Junior Euroweek full of rehearsals and otehr events - will be broadcasted on 01/12 at 16.58

International Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcasted on December 1st at 20:15 on Nederland 1 and will be repeated on Zapp on 02/12 at 12.00 and 05/12 at 13.30. Since 2006 Junior Eurovision shows have been broadcasted on Nederland 3 channel, which caused significant drop in viewing ratings in the country. Whether an unusual broadcast on the main national channel will bring record rankings for the show?

29/10 Theme song for Junior Eurovision 2012 "Break The Ice" will be released as single by host of the show Kim Lian van der Meij on November 2nd. 16/10 The stage design for Junior Eurovision 2012 has been revealed today by EBU. The stage design is naturally influence by the theme of this year�s contest � Break The Ice. Thus the whole arena will be an ice fairytale, including the stage. The stage will include two bridges (one of them bringing the young stars to the Ice Room where they can follow the stage) and a so-called catwalks. It�ll also feature LED screens and can change substantially for every performance.
