Figure 2 shows the changes of the electronic
transference number as functions of temperature for different slags, at CO/C[O.sub.2] = 1.
The ionic
transference number is defined as the ratio of
transference number of any particles/ions to total conductivity ([[sigma].sub.T]) [39].
Physical characterization was carried out using electrical impedance spectroscopy and
transference number measurement to investigate the ionic conductivity and conduction mechanism of PBE films.
[t.sub.+] is the so-called
transference number and physically represents the charge carried by the lithium ions relative to the solvent due to drift.
Several experimental techniques like X-ray diffractrometer (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC),
transference number were carried out to characterize these polymer electrolytes.
The efficiency of transport is directly related to the
transference number of the species, which, in turn, is related to its ionic mobility and concentration.
The
transference number measurements were made using Wagner's polarization technique [19] and presented in Table 2 and Figure 6.
The lithium ion
transference number (i.e., [Li.sup.+]) of the sample was measured at room temperature in the polymer electrolyte system.
One important property not being addressed by the present multiple ion separator systems is a high
transference number ([t.sub.+]), defined as the fraction of current carried by the active species.
