Neither Cove nor Stream Terrace categories differed from upper or lower categories for any of the significant models and were not different than Narrow Ridges (Table 6).
The lowest positions on the landscape were Stream Terraces and Coves.
This was not unexpected as the LC model was developed using more information with respect to drying patterns (e.g., slope and aspect) as well as moisture accumulation (e.g., coves, stream terraces and concave landforms).
Over time, waves of immigrants made their way into Mississippi and began to utilize more local materials such as chert and other rock-type gravels from the Tuscaloosa Formation, Citronelle Formation, and pre-loess terrace deposits, and their derived units such as
stream terraces and alluvium.
Geomorphic indicators of active tectonism revealed on the LiDAR along the Idrija fault near Kapa include uplifted and perched
stream terraces, a beheaded stream valley, dextral stream offsets, and a faulted fluvial terrace (Cunningham et al., 2006).
