The tidal regime is
semidiurnal, with a 0.52 m mean tidal range (Soriano-Sierra & Sierra De Ledo, 1998).
Since we use only the waves from the above mentioned
semidiurnal to diurnal frequency range in the TID constituent, the index i in (5) ranges from 286 to 1121.
Effects of earth tides are manifested in all the three observed wells with diurnal and
semidiurnal cycles of groundwater level fluctuation.
The estuary is under a microtidal regime with
semidiurnal tides.
Water depths there were largely controlled by
semidiurnal lunar tides (range usually <0.7 m, Giese et al., 1979); however, on one occasion I observed that northerly winds ([greater than or equal to] 37 km/h) moved large quantities of water into these creeks.
This mudflat is located in Casco Bay, Gulf of Maine, and has
semidiurnal tides that range from 2 to 4 m (Born, 1999).
The Gulf of Gabes is one of the few regions of the Mediterranean Sea where tidal amplitudes can reach 1 m during spring and where tides are
semidiurnal (Sammari et al.
Tidal regime is
semidiurnal and amplitude is about 1.5 m.
The tidal phenomena reported here are calculated for sites with typical, mixed
semidiurnal tides.
The area is subtropical with dry climate and the lagoon has a mixed,
semidiurnal tidal flow regime with depths near 8 m in high tide, a residence time of seawater ~2.3 days, and a temperature varying from 19[degrees]C in winter to 32[degrees]C in summer (Reyes-Salinas et al.
2), a shallow coastal lagoon fed freshwater by a small river and seawater through a narrow southern part during
semidiurnal high tides.
The tidal pattern is
semidiurnal, but morning low waters recede much further than afternoon low waters in winter, and the pattern is reversed in summer.
