These days Charlie plays a priceless 1735 Guarnerius del Jesu 'd'Egville' violin once owned by
Yehudi Menuhin.
In December 1998 she performed with Nicola Benedetti at the opening ceremony of the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at Unesco in Paris, where they played Bach's Double Violin Concerto under the baton of
Yehudi Menuhin. After Menuhin's death three months later, Alina performed the slow movement of the same concerto at his funeral.
She is also project manager for
