Slavonski Brod
a city in Yugoslavia, located in the Socialist Republic of Croatia. Population, 40,000 (1974). Slavon-ski Brod has a landing on the Sava River. Local enterprises produce steam, diesel, and electric locomotives, railroad cars, streetcars, trolleybuses, bridge transporters, and gantry cranes. Equipment for metallurgical and cement plants and sugar refineries is also produced. Other important industries are woodworking and food processing, especially flour milling and wine-making.
