Hydraulic Hammer

a machine for working metal by blows from falling parts driven by fluid under high pressure. Hydraulic hammers are used for forging, closed-impression die forging, and sheet-metal stamping. They are similar in design to hammers utilizing other types of power—for example, steam hammers. Hydraulic hammers are not widely used because of the difficulty of controlling the impact force.

His crew used a hoe ram and 100 yards of compacted road base to build a level pool pad.
So we excavated about a 10-foot long area approximately 18 inches wide and busted out the caliche with a hoe ram."
The site was on solid limestone, so excavating the 10-foot-wide spread wall footing required a hoe ram. After the footing was poured, the serious work began.
But even when using a hoe ram, it often takes more than eight hours just to reach the drill head in order to push out and hook up the backreamer.
Large scale equipment will include excavators, hoe rams and cranes.
Workers from Laquila Group, the firm in charge of excavation and foundation work, will mobilize heavy equipment on the site, including excavators, drilling equipment, rock breaking equipment, hoe rams, rock drills and track loaders.
C&B crews use excavators, hoe rams and dozers to level terrain and build roadways as necessary across rough terrain.
