- 1993 March 23, Karen Kenny aka Mel, “Gay Scientists/Engineers”, in soc.motss[1] (Usenet), archived from the original on 12 September 2025:
- Define what a "reasonable" response is to unceasing, unapologetic, increasingly aggressive misogyny. It certainly isn't an occasional cutesy posting from you to Melmud saying "Stahp that, you thilly thing!"
Usage notes
[edit]- Chiefly used in the imperative.
- This may be a better choice than stooop to represent an elongated pronunciation of stop, even if the speaker's dialect distinguishes the two vowels, since the spelling stahp can only represent this one word.
