    1. The state of being giddy.
      • 1859, Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities:
        Mr. Lorry, you cannot control the mincing vanities and giddinesses of empty-headed girls; you must not expect to do it, or you will always be disappointed.
    2. A feeling of being overcome with excitement, especially in a silly or immature manner.
