The Wiktionary community encourages users to be bold in updating entries. Wikis develop when people help to fix problems, correct grammar, add facts, make sure wording is accurate, ensure conformance with our policies and consensuses, and so on.
Find a problem? We want you to fix it. No need to ask for permission or for others to do it. Feel free to update entries as you see fit. Though do not feel upset if your bold edit gets changed or reverted.
Be careful
[edit]The boldness of contributors like you is one of Wiktionary's greatest assets. It is important though that you take care of the common good and not edit disruptively or recklessly. If you're unsure of anything, just ask for advice!
Any changes you make that turn out badly can be reverted easily, usually painlessly, and it is important not to feel insulted if your changes are reverted or edited further.
Edits with widespread effects
[edit]Making major changes that affect many other pages, such as editing templates or moving a highly linked-to page, requires more caution.
It is recommended that, before making this type of major change, you become more familiar with the relevant policies of Wiktionary. Fixing any problems that you may have created (such as broken redirects or formatting errors) is appreciated.
