[edit]From Proto-Finnic *-sta, from *-s- (internal locative infix; see -ssa) + *-ta (ablative/separative case suffix). Compare Erzya -сто (-sto), -стэ (-stë), Moksha -ста (-sta).
Suffix
[edit]-sta (front vowel harmony variant -stä, linguistic notation -stA)
- indicates the elative case of a noun, adjective, numeral or pronoun
