Would Catalysts have access to tools which are different from either Custodians or other Users? The Jade Knight (d'viser) 06:23, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A catalyst works with categories and templates to create and organize content, to establish context and linkage and to generally improve usability. Catalysts need no special tools (besides the ones located between the ears ). Current custodians can look at recent changes in category, template and other namespaces for edits that are aligned with maintenance. For example, Ktucker (talk • email • contribs • stats • logs • global account) just created the much-needed {{translations}} template and Trinity507 (talk • email • contribs • stats • logs • global account) has built an entire School of Ethnology almost single-handedly. My belief is that such efforts should be noted. The {{catalyst}} template is merely a token of appreciation and signification from the Wikiversity:Support staff and part of the process for mentoring potential custodians. --CQ 15:43, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some catalytic work

[edit source]

This Wikiversity page is under construction. If you see a Red link, turn it into a Blue link. If you see something that needs Translation, translate it. If you don't agree with something or have a question, simply go to Wikiversity talk:Catalyst with your concerns. This is a wiki!

NOTE: The catalyst role is not "officially" recognised nor ostensibly supported by the current staff (yet). This page has only one contributor, CQ as of 16:53, 30 August 2009 (UTC), thus could easily be deleted.[reply]
