Current administrators
[edit]Administrators are given access for one year per the Restricted access policy. Regular votes are held to confirm each user's status. Other languages indicate the areas in which the administrators might be able to converse with outside project members, or help provide public domain translations.

Confirmation discussions
[edit]Restricted access depends on the continued support of the community. This may be tested by a vote of confidence, in which a simple majority (50%+1) must support the user's continued access for it to be retained. (What access a discussion concerns should be explicitly noted in the discussion's introduction.) Any user may propose a vote of confidence, but at least three established users must support the need for one before it can be called. Such a proposal is made automatically one year after the last scheduled or called proposal (concerning all restricted access).
In the case of an unscheduled (called) proposal, the user may not use the restricted access for any non-trivial action at any time until the vote is closed. A bureaucrat will eventually archive the discussion and, if so decided, request removal of restricted access by a steward.

Hi, I was admin here from the beginning of the project until the end of 2020, when I stopped being active. Now I am active again, and admin right would be useful for moving pages and files, and other maintenance tasks. I am an admin on Commons and French Wikisource. I know Wikisource policies very well (copyright, WS:WWI, etc.), and I intend to follow consensus for all decisions. Thanks, Yann (talk) 05:04, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
Oppose Sorry, but based on recent conversations, your awareness of current policy and procedure is lacking. And although you officially departed in 2020, you dropped into near inactivity several years prior. For example, you had only a couple dozen edits on a very few pages between 2016 and 2019. Yes, I was not very active on English Wikisource between 2016 and 2019, but I still followed the project, so I know about the changes. - Among others, your comments regarding secondhand transcriptions in a Deletion discussion. Berating me does not make me more likely to support your nomination. Another example: your deletion of items from a requested texts page, including several works that were not completed, and some of those still have not been completed. - I know the policy. I thought that was a reprint, which is allowed, if there is no copyright issue. That was my comment. Wikisource policies did not change that much, and I am a participant in this project since it has existed. Now, I may have forgotten some technical details, but these are not policies. - Oppose I appreciate your work, and think a later nomination might be successful. However, I think you need more time to familiarize yourself with the modern Wikisource. For example, raw links are no longer in style, and they should be added as {{esl}} instead. - @Prosfilaes: I am quite disappointed. I could have easily kept the admin right, just doing a few edits every now and then. But I thought that honesty requires to acknowledge that I was not really active, and it was better to relinquish the admin right, and get it back later when I need it. Now that it would be useful, I can't get it back. OK, I understand that I should use {{esl}} instead of a raw link. But is that really a reason to prevent me being admin again? Neutral. Could do with a mop, but I'd rather give them a tad more time to get aquainted with how we do stuff, having been absent for so long. (Also, civility could be better: going out of one's way to answer to every oppose vote and say "I am quite disappointed" doesn't seem fitting of an admin.) — Alien 3
