The Truce Hurts
The Truce Hurts is a 1948 American one-reel animated cartoon and is the second Tom and Jerry cartoon released. It was produced in Technicolor, released to theaters on July 17, 1948 by Metro-Goldwyn Mayer, and reissued for re-release on December 17, 1955.

[edit]- [first lines] Hey, wait a minute! [panting] What's all this fighting getting us, huh? Cats can love dogs, can't they? [Tom nods yes] And mice can get along with cats, can't they? [Jerry shakes his head no, but then nods yes] Well then, let's bury the hatchet. Let's be pals, buddies. What'd ya say, huh?
- Aha, This is more like it. [reading] "Peace treaty: The dog, the cat and mouse agree to live together peacefully. With this truce, we won't tinker. The one that does is a stinker. Signed Tom, Jerry and yours truly". Let's shake on it, pals.
- [last lines] Are you okay Tom? Speak to me pal, speak to me!
