Status of font specimen creator

[edit]

It seems most were made using the tool that now lives at http://shell.aiei.ch/typography/, but I see the recommendation is to provide specimens as SVGs. Is there an existing template I should use? If not, I'm happy to make one. spida-tarbell 𐡸 (talkcontribs) 03:31, 2 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to know too, as far as I can tell the tool did let you download SVG files before, but now is PNG only after the creator moved it to their own site? Ringtail Raider (talk) 05:41, 19 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Unicode 17.0 and Emoji 17.0

[edit]

The pages Emoji, List of Emojis, and List of Unicode Characters all need to be updated to have the correct counts of characters and emoji following the release of Unicode 17.0 and Emoji 17.0. I have already edited the Template for List of Emojis emoji table, but I'm not very technically-orientated and cannot decipher the proper count of characters on Unicode's informative text files, so if any other editor could undertake this that would be super. ✨ΩmegaMantis✨blather 21:38, 9 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

The user Drmccreedy has now made the changes, the problem is solved. ✨ΩmegaMantis✨blather 20:43, 10 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Discussion about WikiProject banner templates

[edit]

For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:

There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Proposal to update wording on WikiProject banners. wikiproject for improving glyphs e.g. --> to →, +/- to ±

[edit]

Do you know of a WikiProject focused on improving glyphs and typography in Wikitext e.g. --> to →, +/- to ± ? Other typography improvements would also be in scope. the goal is improving Wikipedia Article readability & presentation. Tonymetz 💬 19:30, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Feedback requested for a draft about IranNastaliq font

Hello everyone,

I’ve been working on a draft about the **IranNastaliq** font, which has been sitting in the AfC queue for a few months now. Since this WikiProject focuses exactly on this area, I was hoping someone here might have a few minutes to take a look and give some feedback (or review it if everything looks good).

You can find the draft here: Draft:IranNastaliq.

Thanks a lot,

Noam
