Mediawiki:Spam-blacklist is meant to be used by the spam blacklist extension. Unlike the meta spam blacklist, this blacklist affects pages on the English Wikipedia only. Any administrator may edit the spam blacklist. See Wikipedia:Spam blacklist for more information about the spam blacklist.

    Instructions for editors

There are 4 sections for posting comments below. Please make comments in the appropriate section. These links take you to the appropriate section:

    1. Proposed additions
    2. Proposed removals
    3. Troubleshooting and problems
    4. Discussion

Each section has a message box with instructions. In addition, please sign your posts with ~~~~ after your comment.

Completed requests are archived. Additions and removals are logged, reasons for blacklisting can be found there.

Addition of the templates {{Link summary}} (for domains), {{IP summary}} (for IP editors) and {{User summary}} (for users with account) results in the COIBot reports to be refreshed. See User:COIBot for more information on the reports.

    Instructions for admins
Any admin unfamiliar with this page should probably read this first, thanks.
If in doubt, please leave a request and a spam-knowledgeable admin will follow-up.

Please consider using Special:BlockedExternalDomains instead, powered by the AbuseFilter extension. This is faster and more easily searchable, though only supports whole domains and not whitelisting.

    1. Does the site have any validity to the project?
    2. Have links been placed after warnings/blocks? Have other methods of control been exhausted? Would referring this to our anti-spam bot, XLinkBot be a more appropriate step? Is there a WikiProject Spam report? If so, a permanent link would be helpful.
    3. Please ensure all links have been removed from articles and discussion pages before blacklisting. (They do not have to be removed from user or user talk pages.)
    4. Make the entry at the bottom of the list (before the last line). Please do not do this unless you are familiar with regular expressions — the disruption that can be caused is substantial.
    5. Close the request entry on here using either {{done}} or {{not done}} as appropriate. The request should be left open for a week maybe as there will often be further related sites or an appeal in that time.
    6. Log the entry. Warning: if you do not log any entry you make on the blacklist, it may well be removed if someone appeals and no valid reasons can be found. To log the entry, you will need this number – 1364649921 after you have closed the request. See here for more info on logging.

I'm not entirely certain if there has been enough spamming recently to warrant the website being blacklisted, but it has been added in unconstructive ways by at least five different accounts since May alone (see the linked accounts above). Each account mostly has added the link once or twice and then gone inactive, though it is possible more accounts like these could be created or already exist. I was initially unsure of requesting this to be blacklisted, as the website belongs to a subsidiary of Kotak Mahindra Bank, but the links added have been to random articles or posts on their website (such as explaining what the so-called "Nifty 50" on the National Stock Exchange of India is [1]) or how-to guides (such as how to open a demat account [2] [3]) in random places, one of which was on a debut album page. @ProClasher97 Defer to Global blacklist. It's been spammed on other wikis so I've requested global blacklisting. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:21, 29 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

I found this one as well. lp0 has requested global blacklisting; I made some blocks. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:57, 1 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Go D. Usopp: no Declined. Hasn't been added here since December 2023. We usually look for sustained recent activity. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 07:49, 2 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

COI sock refspam, ongoing for 9 months. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Darknightking. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 06:01, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

(Non-administrator comment) I just reverted about 45 additions of this link on other wikis by one of the socks, Simoni.IBC24, and I've requested a global lock for that one. Maybe Defer to Global blacklist but it's not an obvious call either way. The site is still used 30 times on enwiki alone so it's probably worth determining whether the site is reliable (reliable sources can still be blacklisted for spam of course, but it's worth considering). lp0 on fire () 09:15, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm in the middle of replacing it with other reliable sources where possible on enwiki. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 09:22, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

    joyliving.ai and powerpatent.com

    [edit]

Spammed by three accounts each; TAs are all in the same locations. Same farm as five other domains I just reported for global listing. Also worth noting whoshouldigowith.com: Linksearch en (insource) - meta - de - fr - simple - wikt:en - wikt:frSpamcheckblacklist hitsMER-C X-wikigs • Reports: Links on en - COIBot - COIBot-Local • Discussions: tracked - advanced - RSN • COIBot-Link, Local, & XWiki Reports - Wikipedia: en - fr - de • Google: searchmeta • Domain: domaintoolsAboutUs.com which I'm not convinved about blacklisting yet. lp0 on fire () 17:53, 7 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

    chat.whatsapp.com

    [edit]

Also including whatsapp.com as such for no particular reason other than what I will explain. These links are only ever promotionally used, like in here. See also this and this, for more proof. No idea what this blacklisting will do to legitimate userspace articles containing WhatsApp links. – SimpleObjects-9ei (talk / contribs / CentralAuth) 18:04, 7 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
