A warning for those who wish to engage

[edit]

I have received credible evidence from an anonymous source that this user is, in fact, a member of the feline species; heed due regard when enganging with her, as she has been known to bite, scratch, and knead her fellow Wikipedians. You should also note that she has tested positively for toxoplasmosis, and is considered pawed and dangerous. Thank you for your time, and stay vigilant of these pesky felids. Hello, Traumnovelle. This message concerns the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, "List of towns in New Zealand".

Drafts that go unedited for six months are eligible for deletion, in accordance with our draftspace policy, and this one has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission, and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you read this, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the draft so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! DreamRimmer bot II (talk) 06:27, 8 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Stop reverting non-free images

[edit]

Stop reverting non-free images, including those specifically uploaded by ArleneHerman. Some of these have already been legitimate in their 316x316 size (making them viewable in preview tabs and higher quality in general while maintaining a proper size) by DatBot. Just because it's 200x200 or something like that doesn't mean it's better. The original uploads are usually degraded and uploaded in some time like 2006. - RTSthestardust (talk) 21:48, 8 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The images have been altered in an AI-powered editing software, per WP:AIGI these shouldn't be used as they can introduce inaccuracies. Image files do not 'degrade' either. Traumnovelle (talk) 02:39, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
oooooooooh, that makes sense. - RTSthestardust (talk) 02:59, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
[1] is quite an obvious example, you can put it through a noise viewer and see that it has the unnatural noise that AI generates. Compared to [2] or the original [3]
Perhaps I should have used an edit summary in the reversions, there were quite a lot so I figured I'd be fine reverting and leaving a note on the talk page of the uploader. Traumnovelle (talk) 03:01, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hi both. These higher quality album covers I added, none were touched using AI from my end. They were from the official streaming sources and studios. My apologies here. I will remember this going forward. ArleneHerman (talk) 20:12, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps you didn't intentionally use AI but Pixelmator Pro boasts of being 'AI-powered' and the images have evidently been through some sort of AI processing.
Just look at the version you uploaded [4] compared to the original [5] and a higher res [6] version I found online.
This has been true for all the other ones I checked [7] [8] Traumnovelle (talk) 20:22, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
You're a legend for checking this. I had no idea. I was only using the resize down function with Pixelmator Pro. So again, my apologies. Thank you honestly for checking. I will only use preview to resize going forward. I know and understand it uses AI to upscale but didn't know this on down scaling. (I did no upscaling). Thank you! ArleneHerman (talk) 22:52, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Its okay, I guess the application doesn't make it obvious that its AI. I recommend using GIMP, which doesn't (to my knowledge) have any AI features. Traumnovelle (talk) 03:41, 10 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. No it doesn't. I appreciate your help here. Apologies for the trouble. Yes I will use GIMP. Much appreciated. ArleneHerman (talk) 04:00, 10 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kemp House, a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Butler was added.

Closing the discussion

[edit]

Kia ora Traumnovelle - can you please explain how my comment in that section was off topic? I was encouraging the IP editor to gather reliable sources that can be used to improve the article, rather than continue with unproductive arguing. I don't see how that's counterproductive or off-topic. Turnagra (talk) 20:51, 14 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I was referring to thread itself, not your comment specifically. I believe the thread would likely just continue to be unproductive arguments about things unrelated to the article hence why I hatted it. You are free to reverse my edit although I believe that if the thread is unhatted it will resolve back to arguments that are unrelated to the article. You can repost your comment to the IP's talk page. Traumnovelle (talk) 23:08, 14 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Pīpipi

[edit]

Thanks for the ping. Did you mean to give 'Creeper' a capital 'C' in your proposal? It doesn't comply with Wikipedia:WikiProject Birds#Bird names and article titles, so won't pass, and I presume it's not what you intended. Nurg (talk) 01:53, 18 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I'll edit that, thanks. Traumnovelle (talk) 02:01, 18 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Archive.is

[edit]

You are wasting your breath suggesting that there might be some merit to not removing an archive.is link. I and a couple of other editors have tried this on multiple occasions, but there are too many editors who extremely vocally do not believe that the long-term verifiability of content is something of any importance relative to killing archive.today with fire. Thryduulf (talk) 09:28, 28 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I fear that the system is so prone to abuse too. Any smart LTA just needs to make a vandal edit where an archive.is link is removed and it will be impossible to automatically revert for non-admins. Traumnovelle (talk) 09:45, 28 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Add it to the list of problems that were hadwaved away. The decisions around removing that site were the result of something closer to a moral panic than to a rational discussion. Thryduulf (talk) 09:51, 28 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
