Information icon Hello, Dr.üsenfieber. I noticed that your recent edit to List of German soups added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, or to a file name that does not exist on Wikipedia's server. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. Thank you.  Sumanuil. (talk to me) 09:40, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Sumanuil:
The file indeed exists on commons. I'm not sure why my edit was tagged as missing file added, maybe there's replication lag involved, since I imported it from dewiki to commons a minute before my edit. I kindly ask you to revert your edit on List of German soups and refrain from reverting edits solely based on tags, but actually check edits you are undoing. New editors might be discouraged by erroneous reverts like yours.

I don't revert "solely based on tags" and I do "actually check". There are dozens of edits like yours every week, and only a handful actually bother to upload anything. If you did, just revert my edit. Sumanuil. (talk to me) 20:31, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Sumanuil:If you checked my edit, how come you undid it? -- Dr.üsenfieber (talk) 09:06, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Because there was no image yet. Try doing a null edit (hit edit, make no changes, hit publish) after uploading/adding the link next time. And an edit that introduces an error, whether correctly or not, is hardly "flawless". Sumanuil. (talk to me) 07:45, 12 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Sumanuil: The image in fact was already uploaded to commons when you reverted. You may want to inspect the history on commons and here and notice that you reverted my edit 36 minutes after the image got uploaded to commons.
I really don't understand, why it's so hard for you to admit that you made an error here and apologize? In 12 years of Wikipedia activity across 25 Projects, I haven't seen such stubborn behavior. -- Dr.üsenfieber (talk) 09:29, 12 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There's nothing to apologize for. I can't cause cacheing errors at will. Relax and move on. Sumanuil. (talk to me) 04:26, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
