Template:Uw-copying
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved content from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content (here or elsewhere), Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s).
When copying within Wikipedia, at a minimum, give attribution in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination.
Please add attribution if no one has done so yet. If you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you.
This template should always be substituted – use {{subst:Uw-copying}}. Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
| Any breaking changes to this template, including moving it or nominating it for deletion, must be communicated in advance to Twinkle's users and maintainers at Wikipedia talk:Twinkle. The standard installation of Twinkle relies on this template. Thank you. |
Usage

references a specific article pasted to{{subst:Uw-copying|to=Article pasted to}}
references the specific articles copied from and pasted to{{subst:Uw-copying|Article copied from|to=Article pasted to}}references the specific articles copied from and pasted to, as well as additional text{{subst:Uw-copying|Article copied from|to=Article pasted to|Additional text}}
Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-copying}} rather than {{Uw-copying}}.
To customize your message, parameters are available; one to add the article name, and one to add additional text at the end of the message. If your param value contains an equal sign (as urls often do), then be sure to explicitly specify the positional parameter by number; i.e., use |1= or |2= followed by the value; e.g., |1=XYZ=Repainting.
