Green knight

In the casting section it saw Terry Gilliam played the 'Green Knight' and this has a link to the wiki page of the mythological character. Has it actually been stated that these characters are one and the same? To me there doesn't seem to be much similarity beyond the fact the Gilliam character wears a green tunic. Horses in scenes?

After looking at the cited sources, I am forced to agree with the anon. The first source cited doesn't confirm it (only that Elton John was asked), and the second source is an idle tweet. Hardly a definitive confirmation.

The discussion at the top of this page also mentions a book about the film by Mark Forstater, which lists the funders and Elton John isn't in that list. I'd say that's more reliable than a tweet.

Based on the comment above, and looking at Google Books, the full citation would be

Unfortunately Google Books disables its option to search within that book, and it isn't available in libraries local to me, so I can't independently verify the comment in that discussion above, but it seems definitive enough that Elton John is not included in the list of funders.

Per WP:FILMLEAD, we should only be listing the primary genre or sub-genre. The film is primarily a comedy. That it's a fantasy film can readily be inferred by anyone who reads the article. DonIago (talk) 02:30, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
